Nothing To See Here

Two late nights have left me no time to blog this week! Sad! I figure this cute pic of my pup will have to do until I don't have to work Job 2 or have Open House after work and can actually sit down and type up a proper post.

Look at that face! Don't you just DIE?

I will leave you all with a blogging question, though. Gunner wants to you respond to your blog comments? How do you do it? Do you reply in the comments? (I wish Blogger would let you properly reply to comments. Get it together, Blogger!) Do you email replies? Do you visit the commenter's blog in return? And as a commenter, what kind of reply (if any) do you prefer? I'm just curious.

Have a fantastic day everyone!

  1. I'm with you -- I with Blogger would let authors reply to comments. I don't get email addresses w/ my comment notifications on my site, so I just don't reply. Sometimes I'll follow up via Twitter or email if I already know the commenter.

I'll continue to keep an eye out for blogger reply options, and I'll let you know if I find anything!

  2. What a cutie!

I reply in the comments section, but it takes a little effort. (I use blogger, too.) After I type my reply, I have to click "post comment" three or four times while the screen refreshes again and again, but eventually my message will post.

  3. AWWWW He is so cute! I can't believe Blogger hasn't responded to this issue yet---it's the #1 complaint I hear about Blogger. Since I use Wordpress I can give nested replies, and I love doing that. Even though lots of people (myself included) don't necessarily check back to see the response to their comment, it makes me feel better as a blogger. And sometimes I respond to people on Twitter directly if they said something funny or interesting in their comment that I want to be sure to follow up on.

And, though I've been so crappy about it lately, I always try to check out the blogs of people that comment, and leave comments back. It's time consuming, but so worth it! And I've found lots of new friends, book recs, blogs to follow, etc that way.

  4. Your puppy is adorable. :)

I usually try to go back to their blog and comment. I'm not sure how else to do it so they will see it!

  5. You should get intense debate. I just added it to my blogger page, and it is so nice. It allows for nested replies, and not only emails you when people comment, but the commenter can option to have any replies to their comment sent to their email. I like that, because a lot of times I forget to go back when I've commented somewhere to see if the blog owner replied. It's pretty nice.

  6. Such a cutie!!

I reply to all of my comments, but it's easy. I use Disqus on my Blogger blog. Once it's up and running, you can reply to comments on the site or by replying to emails you get alerting you about a new comment. They appear directly below the comment. And people can click to have replies emailed to them.

The one down side is that the option of entering your URL is kind of tiny on the "Post as other" screen. A lot of my commenters don't link to their blog because, I'm guessing, they didn't see the link to add their URL. It's only a down side because I like to visit commenters' blogs but can't if they don't leave an address.

  7. Awww!!!!!!!!!!!! This made me grin from ear to ear!

I like to reply via email to comments but will also reply through Twitter if I know the person through there as well.

  8. He's so adorable!

I also hate that Blogger doesn't have that feature. I hope they add it soon! I've considered putting Disqus on my blog and now that Annerb has mentioned Intense Debare, I'll check that out.

I always reply to comments by email or within the comments section of my blog. I always check out the blogs of my commenters. Like Sarah said, it's a great way to keep the connection going and find new blogs to follow.

  9. Your puppy dog is adorable!

I use Wordpress and reply within the comments. I also make an effort to visit the blogs of people who comment on mine so I can comment on theirs. It's a total time-suck, but a big part of networking, I think. Plus, I've "met" some fantastic people through comments on my blog.

  10. I'm a wordpress self hosted blog, and I have a plug in that will automatically notify the original poster, if someone replies SPECIFICALLY to their comment. So that way they don't have to subscribe to ALL follow up comments, but know if I or someone else continues the conversation. :D

  11. That's one thing I like better about Wordpress than Blogger. The comments are so much easier to handle. I reply right in the comments.
