Melissa's Awesome News

You guys! I have fantastic news!

My friend and member of my online writing group, Melissa Landers, sold her YA sci-fi book in a two-book deal!

Check this:

Melissa Landers's ALIENATED, in which a high school valedictorian takes in an extraterrestrial exchange student in order to receive a college scholarship, prompting a national controversy that spins out of control, only to find herself falling for her mysterious alien friend, to Laura Schreiber at Disney-Hyperion, in a very nice deal, in a pre-empt, in a two-book deal, by Nicole Resciniti at The Seymour Agency (World).

How good does that sound?!

Let me tell you all...Melissa is ridiculously talented and unbelievably nice. She has been a constant cheerleader and helping hand on my writing journey, so I am absolutely thrilled to cheer her on in hers. I could not be happier for Melissa, and I am so excited to see what the YA world has in store for her. (Melissa made her first sale, a three-book contemporary adult romance deal as Macy Beckett, back in July. Look at her being a multi-genre rockstar!)

If you guys don't know Melissa, you can find her on Twitter, on her own blog, and over on Honestly YA. Go meet her, say hello, and give her some big congratulations, because I promise you she is someone you are going to want to know.
