Spring Cleaning

Friday: May I share something funny?

Some of you have noticed that I've been changing up my blog layout this week. It's been an ongoing process because I have some of the tools I need at work and some at home, so I've done a little here and there. But after tinkering all week I think I have something I am happy with. And I did it all myself, which is fun.

I also updated all of my woefully out of date pages along the top, and I added the FAQ page. I don't have very many frequently asked questions, but I felt like having the page there made me sorta cool, so I added it anyway.

So, my something funny for the day is hidden on that FAQ page. Go check it out! (Some of you may have seen it before...I posted it on Twitter one night. But, honestly, it never gets old.) And then let me know in the comments if there is a question you think I should answer on that page, because I am fresh out of ideas. I threw some questions and answers up there, but it's far from done and far from organized. I need your help!

Happy Friday, friends!

  1. Happy Friday to you too! And I think the FAQ page is good as it is--very fun and interesting. Makes me want to add one to my blog. :) One thing: usually agented authors say something about not being able to read manuscripts for people, etc... It's just something I've seen--if that's not a problem for you it probably looks friendlier not to have it up there haha.

  2. I'm white and write about Asian characters too! Well, that is, at least I have one MS with an Asian MC in it.

  3. OHMYGOSH - great question! I watched the clip at work and had the volume up a little too loud. Thank goodness no one was in the room. :) And you just do the coolest things! Also, I'm stealing that picture. Awesome.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. I really like the new blog design! I'm impressed you did it all yourself. Good job. I had a friend help me out with mine because I couldn't figure it out.

    1. Thanks! It's nothing fancy, but it's nice that I can do whatever I want with it.

  10. One of my best friends works at the News Desk for ABC. If you wanted to try & get a better quality clip of your debut, I bet he'd know where to start & which archive guy to bug! I'm not even kidding.

  11. I'll have to watch the clip at home; I had it down low and couldn't hear the question. I think I watched that when it aired - I watched the first few season of the Bachelor and saw at least half that season of the Bachelorette - including Trista and Ryan's wedding. Are they the only successful bachelor/bachelorette couple?

I liked your hair from what I could tell via pixels. I had a little flipped 'do myself back in 2002.

    1. They ARE. They are the only ones who actually stayed together. Crazy that this show doesn't actually work. Haha.

Oh man, I rocked that flipped hair back in the day! It was an awesome look!

  12. Thank you for writing about Asian characters. I'm South Asian and find it disheartening when I can never find anyone from a non-white background.

Wow! You're so tall! Can we swap? I'm only 5'5" :( But I have huge feet. I know a girl with my feet size. She's over 6' lol!

    You're blog is very pretty!

ZOMG! You've been on TV?! That's very cool!

  13. OMG I Just cracked UP at your question. I heart you! I wish the picture was clearer :) Also? I can't believe your husband was approached by a blog lurker! That's... I'm not sure what it is. Creepy? But also cool because you're kinda famous? I can't decide.

Maybe you could answer an FAQ about what you write. Not just about asian characters, but the types of stories you tell?

I really like your new design!! It's awesome and totally suits you!

    1. It was SO creepy. It wasn't from this blog...I used to have a pretty popular blog on xanga back in the day, so it was one of those lurkers. MAN was my husband skeeved out. Poor guy.

Oh, and good call on the question. I'll add that in.
