My Unedited Bookshelves

Last week the lovely ladies of YA Highway posted their unedited bookshelves, so I thought I would do the same thing today.

I live in a tiny shoebox of an apartment, so there isn't a lot of room for me to display my books the way I would like to. I have three shelves right now, but they are totally overflowing.

Shelf 1:

This is my YA series shelf, or authors I have many books by, or signed books. The books on the very top are my current TBR books.

Shelf 2:

Most of the books are here. This shelf is really deep, so all of the shelves are double stacked, which you can sorta see on some of them. I hate that because I like my books to show, but it's also nice to be able to hide some of the Idiot's Guide to Whatever titles I have creeping around.

Shelf 3:

This is newer, so of course I took it over right away. My hardcover Harry Potter books are over here, along with my ALA ARCs that I still need to read. Oh, and cookbooks.

I wish I had a better, more attractive way to display all of my books...maybe one day when I get a place that isn't the size of a shoebox I can spread them all out. A girl can dream, right?

  1. Oh I love these. They're so much cleaner than mine. I'm so tempted to do this, too! Like you, I don't have a lot of space. I have TONS of containers full of books. I've started buying my new TBR's on my e-reader and plan to buy the actual books once I finally have some more space.

As a note, I love the square shelf and have one similar. Now I want to move my HP books to it.

  2. I, too, live in a shoebox and I only have one sad bookshelf (which happens to be from Target, and it's falling apart and possibly a huge liability). It's overflowing. It pains me to admit this, but I end up donating a lot of my books to classrooms and libraries because I just don't have the space for them. [Shakes fist at NYC real estate]

  3. My dream is to have a library in my house but I also need to have books in several places... Live your shelves though they're comfy and look happy (yes shelves can look happy and comfy :-))

    1. Love your shelves not live... Typing front phone:-)

  4. I love seeing other people's bookshelves--it reminds me why I find them so fascinating. :) I see a lot of books on your shelves that I have on mine. Space isn't an issue where we live (lots of room for books), but where we leave is so much less cool than where most of you guys live, so I guess it's a trade off. :)

  5. Fun! I have 3 bookshelves too, plus more books in a box in the attic, and that's after many rounds of donating over the years.

  6. How fun. I love seeing your bookshelves! I have one bookshelf and I love it. I moved recently and I haven't been able to unpack all my stuff yet, which I hate. Some of my books are still in boxes! It sucks. I really want to get a second bookshelf, but since I move so often, it's really not possible. Hopefully someday I will own a home and be able to have lots of bookshelves full of books.

  7. Your bookshelves are so neat! Last year, I finally bought a new bookcase because my poor old one was double stacked (and also stacked on top). I'm already running out of room!

  8. Your shelves are very pretty! You're making me want to reorganize mine and photograph them. And your To-Read pile is impressively controlled. Either you're a crazy-fast reader, or you have better self-control than me.

  9. Your bookshelves are pretty! Mine are such a MESS! And I have three for mine - another three-ish for my kids' books. I really need to consolidate.

I liked getting a sneaky peek into your reading shelf!

  10. I spy Twilight :P

I don't have a ton of room either and I totally do the double stack thing too. It works really well to hide the husband's darwin award and bathroom reader books, lol.
