My Life As Of Late

I know what you're thinking! Hey, Jess! I know you've been trying to make us think you've been blogging by posting book reviews every week, but that's not quite the same. Or maybe you're not thinking that because you've been fooled by my trickery. I don't know. But, yeah, I've been posting a lot of book reviews and not much else. I know, I know. The thing is, well...well, let me give you a glimpse inside of my brain for the past month or so.

*types up blog post*

Hm. This is too whiny. I can't post this.

*stares at the wall*

*picks up a book*

*puts it down*

*stares at inbox*

*makes no move to answer any emails*

Nope. Too complain-y.

*Types up another blog post*

Too boring. Zzzz.

I'm just...in a funk. A writing, reading, life funk. And I can't seem to shake myself out of it. So, yeah, forgive me for not really blogging. Believe me...it's better for all of us that way.

  1. Sadness!! :(
I hope something happymaking comes your way. Spring Break? Time away from work? Going on a writing retreat?

  2. I can relate to this in so many ways, Jess. I have a couple of blog posts that I reverted to draft mode for various reasons, and I'm just finding it challenging to feel motivated, to think up new (and interesting) things to say, to get much of anything done... I hope that you're able to break free from the funk. I'm sending hugs all the way from grey and cold Alberta. :)

  3. Funks suck. I was getting rundown and decided to spend a day at the salon. I'm still not sure if my husband knows how much I spent, but sitting in a soft chair, hair up, having someone rub my feet while eating the most amazing risotta balls was heaven.

If you can afford it, take a day and let yourself be pampered.

  6. Funks... boo! Maybe you need to take a vacation to an adorable coastal town about 350 miles north of you? We could have drinks and chocolate and commiserate. And we could talk books!

In all seriousness, I hope your funk says goodbye soon. I've been feeling similarly lately, and it's seriously lame. I'm thinking all the happy thoughts for you!

  7. Hugs, hugs and hugs...*talking to your funks on the side* *funks promise to try to behave* If that doesn´t work, let me know <3
Jokes aside, sorry that you´re feeling low. Have you tried watching Pitch Perfect again? Or maybe reading ANNA and THE FRENCH KISS? :D
Hope Gunner and your hubby take food care of you!

  8. Honestly, it's like you're in my head right now too. I am all funked out as well. Have barely read anything, haven't written a word... it's awful. I'm in the middle of a blog challenge, but thankfully it's about TV shows so I can just link to a ton of videos without feeling like a wasteoid. I wish I could tell you how to snap you out of it, but I'm right down in the trenches with you. Hopefully we can power through together.

  9. Noooo! Aw, dear Jessica Love, I do miss your blog posts with you awesome humor. But I understand the dark pit of funkdom, too. You need awesome news, that's what you need. I am going to stir up some awesome vibes and energy your way, and hope for some magnificent news for you.

  10. I'm feeling funky too these days. I haven't felt very motivated to blog...and a post I started drafting this week is sort of angsty and whiny so I may not even post it! I hope you feel better soon.

  11. There really is something to be said for expression of emotion in GIF form. I'm all about making GIF-spression into a thing.

    Also, <3
